I have XJS Seats in my V8S and I think EdT has then in his S1.

They do need a bit if work to fit - they are very tight and mine don't move on the runners much but as I'm 6'3" its not a problem for me. The final position is slightly forward of the original seats.
I bolted the seats to 2 bars then drilled the bars to line up with the existing holes so I didn't need to drill any new holes in the floor.
I also had to stop the rear of the seat rubbing on the seatbelt.
There are I think 3 versions of the XJS Sports seats
1. Manual seat adjusters
2. Manual seat adjusters with heated seats and electric lumbar adjustment (I have these and am going to have a go at getting the lumbar working)
3. All electric adjustment. I think these may be too high with all the motors and gubbins under the seat. Not sure if these are heated but guess they may be.

Thanks for the fitting tips. Mine are the manual adjust ones with the heated seats.I dont think I will chance connecting the heater though.
I have just been looking at the fixing of my current seats and with the seat as far forward as it can go, I can just get a spanner on the head of the bolts. However, I can not get access to the front bolts as the seats hit the body before they are visible. Do you just undo all from under the car, if so how do you hold the front ones while tightening/loosening them up??
I have removed the seat belt anchors from the XJS seats, by drilling out the rivets and am in the process of sourcing some metal bars to bolt to the frames and some sheet steel to make some seat belt runner.
Can you think of anything else I need to do/think about?

Off the top of my head
The seat belt stalks - I 'adjusted' these wih a hammer so they were flush to the centre console. Hold a bit of wood over them when adjusting so you don't damage the stalk plastic coating.
The XJS Seats - I removed the cover over the seat pivot on the inner (centre console) side.
The lower seat belt mount by the door - I turned this round so it was facing the 'wrong way' to create a bit more room.
The chrome handle to adjust the backrest ends up against the sill.
I didn't have a problem removing the old seats - if you tilt the backrest forwards will the seat squab go back far enough to see the bolt heads?
To bolt the new ones in I used some big washers - wickes do them.
It is a bit of a bugger to get the seat in just the right place - it took me a couple of goes, and they don't really move much but as I don't need them to I haven't bothered doing anything about that.

Thanks everyone else for their advice on fitting XJS seats. Just one more question. I'm changing the colour of the seats from grey to Biscuit using colourants from the Furniture Clinic. However, as the piping and the back of the seats are vynl does anyone know if the colourants work and on these parts or do I need to use something else......?????
