Slow Electric windows

Does every S have slow and labouring electric windows, or is it just down to age and lack of use?
Mine go down okay, obviously with gravity helping, but both take a long time to go up - maybe I'm just used to modern windows....she a 19 year old car!

Got a solution brewing, it involves pulleys rope and counterbalances, well it works for sash windows. just a few packaging issues to resolve.

I fitted one of these to the runners but it made no difference.

Would love to 'Switch doors to manual' electric windows on an S is an unnecessary over complication.

bit of silicone spray from Halfords might fix, or could be dodgy wiring, or motor kaput

Window is probably getting stuck in the snail rail! Try adjusting the window frame by, setting the screw above the door lock on the door shut. Mine was missing. Also wound window down and performed micro surgery on window guides, ( silicon grease applied with the tip of a welding rod) Try getting one of those extending magnetic lights (£3 from petrol station) and you can slot this down inside the door and oil the gubbins through a piece of earthing sleeve. Can now proudly say they are up to 75%. For the moment!

Obviously this is just a gratuitous attempt to post the pic but didn't see why the Wedge guys should have all the fun!
