S3c replacing window channels

I want to replace the window channels. Do I have to take the alloy guide rails out (and how?) or can the job be done leaving them in the doors?

If your talking about the felt lined thing inside the metal rails then no you don't have to take the metal rails out. Well at least you didn't on my S2.

I took the glass out then slid the felt thing out, cleaned it up and put it back in (straight this time). I assume it's the same on an S3
