A few questions

Hello, a few questions from Nick.
1. Does anybody know what the clutch pipe end is? (the bit that goes into the master cylinder). Is it 3/8ths UNF?
2. The two grey plastic elbows that sit on top of the brake master cylinder and have two pipes jubilee clipped to them, which lead to the remote reservoir; what are they off?
3. Can the brake servo and master be changed to a Ford Sierra type? (Nick has the Saab one).
4. Can DOT 5.1 be used as clutch fluid?

Can't help with the brake servo stuff but for the clutch...

My original one was 7/16 UNF but a new Land Rover part I bought wasn't. I think the new one may have been 3/8 UNF but thats a guess. My local garage had a parts box which had a fitting that fitted so I took it! (I could post a 7/16 UNF connector if Nick needs one as they are a bugger to get hold of!)

You should be able to use DOT 3, 4 or 5.1 but 5.1 is probably over kill. The clutch fluid doesn't absorb much heat so you don't need 5.1 really, if you have some lying around though it should be fine to use. Personally I used DOT 4 for the clutch. Just don't use DOT 5 but you probably know that already.

There is a wealth of information on here about using the Fiesta servo/master cylinder. This has the reservoir attached so you won't need those elbows either

Nick is very aware of these conversions, he's had discussions with Norman Farmer about it. However, a new servo and master would be expensive. He has a sierra one readily available for nothing, and wondered if it'd fit?

No problem. I bought 10 x 7/16 UNF ends from ebay, 5 for 1/4" pipe and 5 for 3/16" pipe as I managed to get very confused about what I needed!As they are a pain to get hold of Nick or anyone else is welcome to one whilst I have them.

So not only does he have to know the thread size, but also the diameter of the pipe?! He was told a 3/8ths fitting would be a set diamter of pipe.....oh dear, this could get complicated. Doubt it (without a lot of modification) or someone would have done it ?Good second hand Fiesta usually available on Ebay for not a lot ?

yup!If it's easier I'll sent one of each! My original clutch pipe was 1/4" (6.35mm) but my new one is 3/16" (4.76mm). should be able to tell with a bog standard ruler but vernier callipers are better.
