I have been trying for some time now to find an answer to the "long seatbelt stalk" problem. I recently have been trying out one from a Daewoo Nubira which was ok but not perfect, the answer lies in the stalks from a humbe Fiat Punto being a muppet I forgot to check the year but it was from one from the mid to late nineties that all the boy racers like to modify.

This is the difference in length

You need to get all the bits in the picture for each side

You need to cut the spacer down so that it looks like the one on the left

This is what it looks like before fitting

This is the finished article

It was dead easy to do only cost me £4 from the scrapyard and even the bolts are the same thread and have threadlock on them and are a tad longer which suits just fine.

Cheers.....Tony..

Great solution.

That spacer that you cut down - if you'd had a dig around in the fibreglass there is actually a grotty bit of very rusty steel tube in there with a rubber grommet around it - if you had dug that out it may have just fitted straight on.

The spacer has a lug on it which is used to keep the bolt central in the hole, it's important you retain it as the hole is slightly bigger, that's how Fiat intended it anyway.
