Where is this located. My temperature gauge has got a mind of it's own and i need to test it.

Under the throttle body, on the side of the engine. There are two here, the top one is the coolant temp sender for the ecu and has a proper 2 wire plug on the top, the other is the one you want with a single push on wire.

On my s3c its the sensor located underneath the throttle body, sort of round the corner from the thermostat.
