dimensions of radiator

Hi

anyone run a tape over their rad for me - the S I'm building did not come with engine/box or rad

so I'm looking to what size I will have to purchase - I'm putting in a Cossy 24v engine and MT75 hybrid box. So if poss I will use a Sierra Cossy rad I already have (but it may be too wide?)

how much room is there around the standard rad?

Being too wide won't be a problem, there is miles of space on either side. But height could be. You need to decide how you're going to mount it. And if you aren't using the standard radiator that probably means you will need to design your own mounting solution.

I've got a V8S rad same as S3 and S4 that needs recoring that you can have if its any use.

It has no bleed tap but I can't imagine they are too hard to get hold of. (I had to transfer it to my new rad)

Don't remember, and I gave my last one away some years ago. It's roughly 15" high but that's not much help to you. You should see how it's mounted by pins and bolts, and you'd need identical mounts on your replacement for it to drop right in. If you use a different radiator with different mounts, of course you have to figure out your own replacement. For example, I use a rather bigger rad on mine which had a completely different mounting system; I attached a U channel to the bottom and then added a couple of pins in the right place to pick up the original mounts, and the top is secured by a couple of straps. Not especially difficult to do but it did involve cutting the original top mounts off the radiator support frame so you need to think twice before you do it.

I will try to fit the rad I have. If it proves too dificult I will call and see if you stilll have yours - may take some time
