Door speakers..

The speakers in my 'S' are about shot,though the previous owner fitted a very nice Sony head unit in the last 4 months.Without me having to go and take the speakers out and measure them(car is at the girlfriends place)(and NO,she doesn't have the keys !!) are the speakers going to be fairly normal depth or should I be buying shallow fitting speakers ??
Also on the same subject.. Where could I fit an additional pair of speakers ? About the only place I can see is behind the seats under where the hold folds.
All advice is greatly appreciated.

I know what you mean...Especially with my heavy right foot !!
However,a bit of the Foo Fighters or The Who or ACDC on full blast adds to the cacophony.
I have had many many silly cars.. V12 Jags and Daimlers,BMW635CSI,Alfa 164 V6,1969 Thunderbird (429cu in),V8 Capri..I could go on and on.
But NO car has ever put a smile on my face like this TVR.And as TVRs go she only a little one.
Wait till I get enough money to get a Griffith!!!

Bit late replying to this one (sorry, not been near PH for a week or 2!)
My door speakers were looking VERY tatty when I got the car - no covers and the passenger side one looked like someones size 10 had hit it getting in or out and it didnt work. One of my ashtrays was also broken.
I also like a bit of music sometimes so my solution to tidy everything up was a 2 part component speaker - main unit in the big door enclosure and the tweeter mounted in a plate that covers the hole where the ashtrays went. This moves the tweeter nearer ear level and so sounds great. They are nothing that special, something that the local car audio place recommended at the cheaper end of the scale.
To finish it off I would mount some rears on the bulkhead behind the seats. I had some here on my previous S and they make a HUGE difference. But I used that car everyday, unlike this one, so do not really need them. IF fitting on the rear bulk head make sure you get as shallow as possible; you'll be surprised how much they eat into the already limited storage space in the boot on the shelf above the tank.
