Intermittent starting

Hi All

Me again

My mate popped over yesterday and I took the opportunity to show off my new acquisition but it wouldn't start!! Plenty of battery power but when I turn the key absolutely nothing.
Then 10 mins later......Boom, she starts, got home tried to fire her up again and nothing??

Any help would be much appreciated.

From previous posts I have read, this would sound like solenoid on starter motor. The search engine will bring up loads of threads on this

Hello Jonathon, I had this too, it turned out to be the yellow connector under the steering cowl and starter motor connections. The yellow connector was replaced by inline crimps and I cleaned the stater connections, hope you get it sorted. Where in South Wales are you?

also check the Yellow Connector well known for its effects on the electrics.

Wiltshire is a lot south of B'ham I just asked because I saw an ad in the classifieds for an S that needed the bonnet adjusting and I had thought about going to have a look...
