I need a new rear view mirror for my V8S. Does anyone know what car TVR sourced it from? I’m assuming it’s Ford but which model?

Thanks in advance.

The mirror on my S3 is a Pug 205. I have just ordered a new bracket to replace the attachment bracket on the mirror as it was broken. Just over £5 from ebay

The plastic covers unclip from the mirror stalk (press the small square holes on the sides to release the clips). This part then slides off the metal stalk. Put the new bracket on and re-assenble.

Sounds a bit different to mine. See below. If you look closely at the bracket you’ll see the two “ridges” which slip over the pad on the screen are broken so it’s not gripping properly.

That is exactly the same as mine, and broken in exactly the same way. The plastic covers are in two parts and come off to reveal a metal rod inside. The bit I ordered from ebay, fits on the end of the rod.

Will take some photos later.

I will just add that the bit I ordered from ebay has yet to arrive, and I therefore assume I have got the right bit.

The photos of the mirror above are better than I can take, so will not replace them.

The metal clip bonded to the screen looks like this. Be aware that these are also available from ebay, so be sure to by the right bit for this job, that fits on to the mirror stalk.

So the plastic clip arrived today.

The process is as described above. However, I did need to trim off approximately 1mm of what looked like moulding overflow from the outside edge of the new clip to get the clip to fit inside the plastic covers.

The most difficult part of the process was getting the mirror assembly back on to the metal clip bonded on to the windscreen. Given the force it seemed to require, I removed the plastic covers to avoid breaking them, then re-attached them to the mirror stalk once it was in place.
