wtf was going on in town today?

Had a few jobs to do in central today.

M25 was screwed from Hemel to way past the M40, so jumped off at Maple x and then q'd all the way to Denham.
Then all the way to Hanger lane.
Then the whole of Piccadilly (from what I saw) was shut, every other road I tried to use was closed too.
The traffic in general was virtually gridlock everywhere.

Parliament Sq shut for a protest or something, also a moped under a lorry on Chelsea Embankment meant that road was also shut.
