I'm thinking a mk1 mx5 will be a good idea soon, but would really quite like to have a good up close look at one before I lookany further. Need to check a few things such as whether my photography kit will fit in the car!

I'll take a few photos for anyone who can take me out in one from Nottingham smile

Thanks!
George

Should be fine as long as your trying to fit some softboxes in there.

Softboxes wouldn't be the issue as they fold up well, but my rig for moving shots might be smile

There's plenty of room in the boot and plenty of room in the passenger seat for tripods in bags etc. Also, if you remove the boot bulkhead trim, you'll find two long useful cavities extending forwards in the car on either side of the boot, ideal for monopods etc. smile

Thanks very much for this, very useful. One of the reasons I want to have a good look at the car is to have an idea of the way it loads stuff so I can have an idea for anything I may wish to use it for. I'm not being awkward (honest!), but the rig poles are (3x 1.5m long, 4cm diameter metal poles) and I'd like to see if they fit properly, and if so, whether I could take a passenger with them in and all my other equipment smile

George - where in Notts are you?

I work just off junction 28 so it's not a massive distance away.

If you're more interested in looking round one for size etc I should be able to help - however if it's ride / the drive mine isn't the best example at the moment, knackered shocks are causing a terrible ride, and a rattly cat is making it sound like a tank.

Unfortunately these issues need to wait til I've had my rusty sills fixed.

Brilliants cars these are..... hehe

If so im not too far away, and happy to let you have a gander at the car and take you out, but were only free on tuesday morning as im getting a new car tuesday afternoon and the mx5 will be neither taxed or insured after this date as im selling/breaking it.
Let me know if this is any good for you.

Regards
Matt

Hi Dan,

Thanks for the kind offer, but it makes sense to take Matt up on his offer. If there are complications and I can't see Matt I shall give you a shout if that's okay.

Thanks!
George

Thanks very much to Matt, I've now decided that the mx5 is practical enough for me and that everything will fit. It's also great fun which is obviously very important.

Pictures to come in a bit thumbup
