Cars in the Park
Discussion
Went in the end with the MG club and got inside for free will try and stick some pictures up tomorrow. They were some lovely cars both old and new and some really friendly owners cars on display included a lot of old mini's, e type jaguars, corvette, tvr's oh and the Ford Galaxy Owners Club...
My favourite car of the show had to be a completely standard Ford RS200 in as new condition spoke to the owner informed me only two in complete standard condition left in the UK he paid £25,000 for it in the mid 80's off some affluent women who had initially brought the car for her toy boy. Apparently he has had several offers on the car including £200,000 of Ford themselves which he declined.
He then went to tell me about his Escort 1700T he is just about to finish restoring one of a handful of prototypes which he has been offered £150,000 even before completion. Owner was a top bloke opened and closed the front and back talked us round the car etc... same goes for the people there with the lotus elise rally car top blokes had a good chat with them and was quite interesting and got to sit in a few of the rally cars they had on display as well
My favourite modified car at the show had to be 2000 Renault Clio that had been fitted with a meganne 225 engine running 280bhp completely stripped with top of the line coil over suspension, uprated brakes etc... it really was a beautifully presented car and I imagine quite a weapon on the track spoke to the owner about it all and turned out he did all the work himself as well.
