So the all singing and dancing A46 opens to a fanfare ahead of time.

But it's not REALLY open, is it?

Seems to be a constant supply of cones and lane 2 out of action - just travelled along it from Cropwell to Widmerpool and the only work going off was a couple of blokes trowelling a bit of concrete by the central reservation at the Widmerpool end.
Even Widmerpool island itself is still coned off.

Anyone know WHY theres still roadworks?

The lane closures are because they didn't install traffic monitors in the road at time of construction. Quite an epic planning fail really.

It's taking a mighty long time to lay a few cables!

Just a thought - are we likely to see blue poles with yellow boxes on top any time soon?

I've wondered the same - it's very easy to make very good 'progress' isn't it!? I know unmarked cop cars patrol the Bingham to Newark stretch a lot.

These roadworks have been there for months.
I started work in Newark in August and have been stuck behind people doing 35mph for miles on end with not a whiff of a guy in hi-viz working in the coned off section.
All the more galling is the construction company got millions as a bonus for finishing on time.

They obviously have a different definition of finished than I do.
