Has anyone got any recommendations please?

I can't get my mk5 golf started. I've checked the obvious stuff and common failures on the mk5, but to no avail :-[

I've plugged in a fault code reader and its not connecting properly to the ecu so it looks like I'm after an auto electrician - not simply a guy with a laptop who can read fault codes but a proper auto electrician who can delve a bit deeper and properly diagnose faults the old fashioned way.

Can anyone suggest anyone please?

Cheers,
