Air-con re-gassing/checking
Discussion
Hi, is anyone able to recommend any places to re-gas (if that's the correct term?!) air conditioning? The AC in my car (06/07 Fiesta Zetec S) is pants in this weather .... Especially as I'm out in my car all day for work!
I know many garages will do it but could do with a place that's reasonably priced and decent! I live in the Stoke On Trent area.
Cheers

Funny enough ,mine has not been well since (in desperation )I used crapfit for an oil change .Was cheap as I used to take our van fleet in for tyres, but the oil chang caused problems as they'd not ordered in all the seals . Halfrods- I don't like since one car they had for a service broke down. Turned out to be loose battery lead, they'd had off . And not tightened properly . That's my opinion-i've never in 40+ years on the road had a battery connection I've tightened come loose . IMHO, both places employ monkeys and only when they get it wrong does the organ grinder come in to sort it out. In my case ,Aircon is next to oil filter . Last year I had rear shoes replaced as a "SPECIAL DEAL" at a local tyre place. I've used them before for rear shoe replacement with no problems. Rears were repalced by their "expert". Next day ,i noticed air in lines ,and as it was due MOT, had my MOT place sort it out. Verdict- worst case of air in brakes they'd seen .
I'd settle for a fuly trained mobile bloke and leave the tyre monkeys to eat peanuta and change tyres .

There has been a similar thread running in GG, which recommended somewhere in Coventry -> http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

Ended up getting mine done at Kwikfit as there is one 200yrds from work. they did it for £40 in the end but not sure why (maybe the smart only takes a little bit of gas?) Anyway its working well but be warned if like my car you have to remove the front grll, they wont do it unless you remove it yourself s they arent allowed to remove body parts from your car
