Hi guys i need a little help. Does anyone know of a good garage in the warwick area postcode CV34 6DX or within a few miles or so.
My sons VW golf [mk4 2002 1.6 petrol] developed a problem today on the M6 as he was heading from Cheshire to Warwick. The engine management light came on and the car was misfiring slightly.
He stopped and phoned for assistance as he had breakdown cover.
It was only basic recovery service, and they had no diagnostic equipment, but included in his cover was relay either to home or to his onward destination.
The car is now at my sons rented house in Warwick, which he only moved into today, and we need to take it to a reputable
local garage.
The breakdown guy thought it something simple, like a cam sensor, or is it crankshaft sensor? as the timing wasnt quite right.
I have a limited knowledge of mechanics. The car would drive, but with a misfire, So could it be the coil pack breaking down?
Anyway any pointers towards a local garage would be very much appreciated.
Thanks Tom.

I've used Warringtons in Warwick for years and they've always done a great job. All my family use them too.

Thanks to all for the suggestions. Car now sorted and back in good health, thanks to a very nice man from the AA. Coil pack was the problem, so maybe my mechanical knowledge isnt too bad.............or was it a good guess?

Late this time, but I'll second these guys - recommended them by friends for Becs' Golf and they were good, reasonable, quick and honest.
