Sat Bains' place

Harts Restaurant

Or, take her to the Hammer & Pincers in Widmerpool.

All of these will have a half decent vegetarian option.

maybe not as posh, but good food and atmosphere, Vivo in Stapleford. Decent Italian munch and selection of veggie dishes.

There's a place in Beeston called roja (or similar) which looks nice from the outside but I've never been in because it's veggie only food.

No. 3 star hygiene rating and from experience that is generous.

ETA: Harts is good, Sat Bains epic, but no idea what they are like as a veggie.

I don't rate World Service at all. OK starters & desserts but dull as ditchwater mains. We tried it again after a long break a few weeks ago. Very disappointing.

It has all the pretence of a fine establishment but let down by the food & some other bothersome stuff like overfilling of white wine glasses. Great if you want to shmooze with the tantastic in-crowd and pretend you're having a fine dining experience, but little else.

Their sister restaurant Iberico is way, way better.

Take her to the Higoi in Lenton. It is a fantastic little place and perfect for veggies (if they eat fish)! Fantastic food.

Apologies for bumping an old one but I didn't think my question warranted a post all of its own.

I'm in Nottingham tomorrow night and am looking for somewhere to eat within walking distance of the Holiday Inn Express in the centre - I've never been before and have no idea what's available in the area (or where to avoid). I'll be dining alone and on a very modest (work expenses) budget so no trips to anything fancy unfortunately.

Very open-minded on what type of food it is.

I'll have a wander around on Google Streetview tonight but thought I'd ask for local advice before I end up somewhere I'll regret.

Annie's Burger Shack, bit of a walk and call them first for availability but it's bloody great!
