MOT in Nottingham
Discussion
I've used Lindleys a few times in the past for MOTs / swapping wheels over. They are a 2/3 minute walk from the train station on Traffic Street, its a family run business and prices are pretty good. I've recommended them a few times to folks where I work and as far as I know everyone whose used them has had good experiences.
I've also had a couple of good experiences at Kwik Fit on Huntingdon Street, they've done me a couple of favours FOC in the past, a nail repair on a brand new tyre and sorting out the TPMS issues I had on a new set of winter wheels last year.

Lindleys are good, I've know them for 25 years or so.
John Oakes on Nuthall Rd is the best mot guy I've known. A really helpful guy and I've used his garage for maybe 30 years or so. :-)
My vote for John Oakes too - always been superb and accommodating for me - a good recommendation thanks MikeJohn Oakes on Nuthall Rd is the best mot guy I've known. A really helpful guy and I've used his garage for maybe 30 years or so. :-)
I wouldn't use Lindley's - used them twice and let me down twice, no third chance for them
^ The good thing about Oakes is that they will always make an effort to get your car through the test. They'll tinker with things and make adjustments and it's a free service.
Also, they don't really do repairs so have no interest in producing a fail just to 'get some work'. They can do some jobs if you ask them or they'll recomment a local garage. John and Stephen are top notch :-)
Has John seen your Ultima? He loves something a bit different :-)

He certainly has - they've done the MOT on it for the last 8 years and for our other cars too.
Sadly they won't be doing it any more - I was tempted into selling it at the back end of last year, so it now lives up north. I got a hayabusa powered MK Indy in p/x, which couldn't be more different, so I'm seeing how I get on with that for the time being. First track event is Wednesday evening at Donington.....
