Help me solve this annoying mystery: 5Q mph?
Discussion
Hello Midlands lot.
I sometimes head up to see my family in the Peak District, and keep noticing the speed limit signs there (and perhaps further out?) have been adjusted or graffiti'd by scoring a line across the zero, for example...
30 - 3Q
40 - 4Q
50 - 5Q (seems to me the most common?).
Does anyone have any idea what this is all about. Seems like at least half the signs in the Derbyshire peaks have this annoying adjustment. Of all the road users, it would be cyclists that have the range and ease of dismounting and therefore are the likeliest suspects, given the quantity of them swarming the hills all year round.
I did notice - a long way away in Bristol - some stickers in a public loo, amongst some amusing and hilariously rude stuff there was one that immediately caught my eye...
4Q. In a speed limit triangle.
WHAT is going on with this, anyone have any idea?
