Hi Guys

Dont ask me how, but I got the car out of the garage on Saturday for the first time in 2 weeks, only 2 find a big scrape and dint in the back wing!!! weeping

Ive only drove it once this year and that was to the Denby meet on the 7th. mad

I dont know whether I have done it backing it into the drive (I dont know if I did and there is no evidence on the wall) or someone did it while it was parked up, but either way......not happy.

Can anyone suggest any where good for paint local? I HATE HAVING PAINT ON CARS!!!! Its never as good as I want it to be (like original)

I had chips away to paint the wing mirrors as the laquer was cracked and that was not only a terrible job (over spray, primer showing, bits in the paint), but also the wrong colour!!

I then took it to Chartwell in Derby (They do all of BMW, ASTON MARTIN, JAG, MERC, etc now) and the final version was great, but the first time they scuffed one after putting them back on, then they broke the locks on the 2nd visit and it had to have 2 trips over to Porsche in Notts to get sorted out.

I dont think I ask too much.... dont rip me off, and give me the car back so I cant tell its been painted.

Any suggestions? confused

Some one has told me to try P & L Coachworks? in Huthwaite. They had a Ferrari and Porsche in when my pal had his 911 done. I am waiting for a quote to come back from Chartwell again...watch this space for the price...

We used a chap in Alfreton when the Nissan 350Z was attacked by a bunny and a multi story car park. Really good job, good price and he works on prestige cars (Fezzas etc). Lee is the chap to ask for. Mention Tracy with the TVR's and the Mini recommended him thumbup

I've used Chartwell's in the past and they've always been good. The other place I'd recommend (they did the full respray on my 350Z) is Burnaston Bodyshop in Burnaston. Ask for Mark and tell them Neil with the black BMW CSL sent you.

Actually, I'll shortly be paying one of them a visit at someone elses expense as some muppet customer backed into the CSL's passenger door while it was parked up at the BMW dealer in Derby. Idiot just drove off but imagine his surprise when, seeing as they had just serviced the car and had the whole thing on CCTV, they called him up and confronted him.... rolleyes

Theres a place in Beeston - They do a lot of work for Graypauls, think there called Ristes or something like that. They are based just behind the old Nottingham Rugby Ground. Will try and dig out the number for you

eek Oh my god....

Just had a quote from Chartwell to paint the wing and just onto the bumper of the car.....

£1440.45

Are they having a laugh? I would say £400 would be a lot, but I didnt expect a 1 infront of it!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys in the Cattle Market, Nottingham are pretty well priced. They've repaired dents and resprayed my friend's Golf and Audi and I was impressed with the results and I'm a fussy one.

I can recommend them, I drive past the place every time I go to work and have used them for a front end respray on the TVR (bonnet, both front wings, both mirrors, and passenger door = £700) and the Golf (passenger side resprayed = £200) both metalics and both a spot on job.
They always have a few exotics in there, and all the lads there seem to know there stuff.
