Anyone interested in doing a Lincoln to Nottingham trip or vice versa??? Would like to start up a regular run in this area.

Also, i am looking to get myself a new pub somewhere near to the A1, I was thinking about setting up a place similar to the Ace cafe in London, does anyone think this will take off around here, or do you think its just a southern thing?

I'm sure it would be good. Probably better nearer to Lincoln though as the roads are better over that way.

It would be good to have a place in this area of the country that would operate in a similar style to the ace cafe.

Sounds like a good plan mate. Not sure you would get the same number of vehicles as the Ace gets, but I am sure a good selection of nights and some hardcore advertising would get the project going. I don't think there are a great deal of competitors in the region either. I am also up for a Lincoln - Nottingham run!

Sounds good! Sounds a good run - haven't been Lincoln way in ages, you've gave me an idea for a route this weekend!!!! With regards to Ace Cafe type place - brilliant idea and yes it would take off.

Depending on dates/times, I'd be up for this type of run.

first rule of the gumball, the meeting place is kept a secret and the route is only disclosed in person.

ill be along if the meetingplace and route are kept off the boards

Ok Gary do you want to do the route and set the time, then Email me, and i will pass it round. Also if anyone wants to just meet up in a pub again like we did a few weeks ago that would be good.

I'd be up for it as I'm in the next village to charlie 944

Not sure I will I be able to keep up in my tepid 307 though?

Will I had similar thoughts re an Ace or Goodwood style Cafe,
would be happy to discuss offline, I may be able to help out on the supplier front.

Sounds like fun. If I'm about I'll be up for it.

Re: Ace Cafe Lincs Area - the Little Thief that closed down on the Northbound carriage way of the A1 (is it still closed?) would be a good venue.

Are you looking for investors?

I presume the Little Thief is the Little Chef place? And yes this would be a good site. Not sure if its still available or not. As for investors, not to sure yet. i have the capital to go big, but it always helps to have backup.

Ideally I would like a big pub style building, decked out in racing memorobilia with a good food offering. And also need a huge carpark and possibly a go cart track/drag strip. Also and this bits probably gonna be the expensive bit, I would like to have an overhanging building with a glass floor that goes over where a supercar only carpark would be, so people could walk over the floor and look down onto the cars. (like at the Mclaren factory).

Well Gary hasnt got back to me with a route yet, but if anyone wants to convoy at all next week let me know. I have been to Lincoln today, and had a nice run down the A46 with an MX5 and a TT, this road has to be one of the best in the Midlands to have a good safe run down.

My cars booked in next thursday in Nottingham so i'll be going down the A46 that morning but depending on how long they take to sort the car depends on when i'll be coming back to Lincoln. If anyone fancies a run late that afternoon I should have the car back then.
