Where would you sooner put your 20k ???

Into a Ferrari Mondial t or a Porsche 911 Turbo ?

Or would you go for a modern reliable performance car like a V6 Clio Mk2 or
VX220 Turbo

I would'nt put £50 into a Mondial, another Ferrari yes, make sure the Porsche has a bloody good warrantee, and the V6 Clio is much too heavy at 1400kgs. As long as you have'nt got a bad back (yet) then go for the VX 220 turbo. IMO of course. John

Go for the 328 instead of the Mondial. Unless your after 4 seats. If you sit both cars together, your eyes would definately take you to the 328.

Hi Simon,

given your profile and the title of this thread, you already know that if you buy anything other than a Ferrari or Porker you're going to be dissapointed and kicking yourself for not 'going for it'!

I am 100% biased, but I think in your heart you are too

So, if I was you I'd be looking at a 308/328 GTS for c.£20k. Buy privately after making sure the car has a thorough PPI (I can recomend people locally if you want to mail me). And then enjoy the summer months in a open top Ferrari!!!

Just so you know I ran a Mondial QV, although it was a great reliable car, given my time again I would of spent a bit more and gone for a 308 GTS.

Mail me directly if you think I can help in anyway

You'll be very lucky to find a 328 worth having at £20k - that's definitely more 308 territory.

yep, it's going to be a 308 GTB/S i

ie totally strangled by the introduction of fuel injection for emissions reasons...200odd bhp so pretty slow (7.5 - 8.5 to 60?) but still it's a beautiful car...you might get a reasonable left hooker for that cash with a nicer setup for example the QV (240bhp) or the early carb models (255bhp but a bugger to maintain yourself).

I know of people who've managed to purchase LHD 348's in very nice nick for 20k

328's will cost more than that IMHO

i'd go for a tuscan for 16k and keep the 4k for maintenance...or a VX220 turbo

VX22O Turbo gets my vote. Really cheap to run (annual service is something like £150), with performance of a supercar costing 6 times more

As long as you know a good chiropractor

Im a big car lover of all shapes and sizes.

I ended up buying a 911 cause it ticked every box without having to give up my entire life to run the thing:

1. Low depreciation
2. Fast
3. Reliable
4. Luxury
5. Good Looking
5. 4 seats

Ive spanked it every time I have driven it over the last year or so, and other than the expected maintenace issues, its been a good motor.

The only problem with it.....I want something even faster now! driving

Every thing feels slow when you get used to it.

I've just taken my Mrs out of a Focus RS to put some dosh on a
house. She now runs a 1.1 Saxo !!!

All she used to moan about was fuel costs

All she moans about now is not having 213 hp and 320 nm
of torque

Women Hey !
