Flat/ room in Shirley/ Solihull

Having just landed a 12 month contract in that side of town, and not really looking forwards to a 1.5 hour commute each way, I'm looking for a 12-month rental on a small place, just for me to use Mon-Thurs (going back home Fri-Sun). Thought I'd give PH a go before diving into the Solihull Times small ads & various letting agents.......

Anybody got anything suitable, or know anybody that could be looking to rent out somethng simple in that side of Brum (planning for the start of June)?

Might be worth you looking in Redditch Advertiser as well. Only a few more miles away and rental properties quite a bit cheaper in the Redditch area. Lots of property at Dickens Heath if you want the Shirley side of Solihull (in the Solihull papers) and Wythall (Redditch paper generally) tends to be a bit cheaper than Dickens. Will keep my eye open for you and post on here if anything crops up.

Thanks both. I used to live in Knowle, so I know the area really well. Just thought I'd give the local PHer's a try before paying out a commission to a letting agent.
I'll give Redditch/ Bromsgrove & Acocks Green a miss though- I want to be somewhere near the UCI in Shirley ideally, so I can walk to work for the next 12 months, going for a drive around Monkspath this afternoon.
