If you are interested in Lotus .....

DONINGTON 2007 CLUB LOTUS SHOW AND FESTIVAL
The 2007 Club Lotus Show and Festival will be held, as usual, at Donington Park over the weekend of March 17/18.

This year, for the first time, we will be using the full Donington race circuit on Saturday. Lotus-on-Track will be running an exclusive Lotus trackday. All places on the trackday have now been sold but hot passenger laps are still available (£5 for 3 laps) with all the proceeds going to the Teenage Cancer Trust charity. The circuit is open from 09.00 to 17.00 and Hot Lap tickets (only 50 per hour are available) can be purchased at the Show. To get things moving we are selling tickets for the first 3 hour sessions in advance from Club HQ. Spectator entry to the track for Show visitors is free.

Two important Lotus cars, the Type 14 Elite and the Seven, celebrate their 50th anniversaries this year and we'll have special displays of both models at the Show.

Classic Team Lotus and Lotus Cars will also be exhibiting and we'll again be starting up one of CTL's historic F1 cars during the Show - a great opportunity to get close and hear what a real F1 car sounds like.

Inside the hall there will be plenty of specialist Lotus trade stands selling everything from new cars to parts and accessories. If you need technical advice come and speak to the experts. There's also a large autojumble, an Elise racing simulator, club displays with both historic and modern cars, cars for sale and refreshments.

On Sunday Jerry Thurston of 'Salvage Squad' fame will be on the Spyder Engineering stand talking about his ongoing Elan+2 rebuild.

Hundreds of Lotus cars - road and race - reflecting the great history and heritage of Lotus will be at the Show. Organised by Club Lotus this showpiece event kicks off the new season.

Advance tickets saving £1.00 are now available from Club HQ. Family and OAP/teenager tickets are also available and if you want to sell your Lotus (why???) it's only £22 including an entry ticket to display your car inside for the whole weekend.Show opening hours are 10.00 to 16.30 on Saturday and 10.00 to 16.00 Sunday.

For tickets and information contact Club Lotus on 01362 694459/691144 or email annemarie@clublotus.co.uk

I think entry is £8.50. There is a parade of Elans (usually about 80) leaving the TravelLodge at J23a around 9.00am - DE74 2TN. All in all there will be around 300 Elans at Donington.

Have been going for the last 6 years! must say I think the car park is better than the show though unless you are after parts.

There is also an Excel display organized and run by the good people from

www.lotusexcel.net/

as it's the 25th birthday of the Excel.

I'll be along on Saturday in my white Excel - PH sticker in the windscreen!

Sorry Paddy didn't see you.

I thought it was a good show, nice variety of stands and some nice cars to drool over! Good to see so many people there.

If anyone is thinking of going tomorrow I'd certainly recommend it.
