Right you 'orrible lot, where are we going to have it then?

The Anchor at Oakerthorpe is off the list for good.

The Lion at Starkholmes is undergoing roadworks I believe.

The Inn at Tansley was done last time.

What about the The Racecourse Inn, Uttoxeter, mentioned by Fort Jefferson?

A google says its a Travel Inn/Brewers Fayre? well sod that for a game of soldiers, chemical ale served in aerosol form with added esters, and a laminated menu, surely not?

No doubt i'll go on a bit of a hoon round Derbyshire tomorrow, will look for a good alternative. If i spot anywhere i will report back!

BTW: would it be a good idea to go in a see the landlord to make sure they are open Tuesday night?!

I can recommend the Dog & Partridge at Swinscoe which is near Ashbourne. Not sure the seating would work that well though. Good selection of Bitter!

Er - so where is it going to be then? I'm still none the wiser

Warren - surely there must be some good beer pubs around Burton?

Should we narrow it down to one County to make the selection easier?

hehe

Anybody got a venue?
Starkholmes road is open again if we need a fallback.

Hows about the Bulls Head at Monyash, couple of minutes off the A515 and does good food and beer.

Didn't really go for that hoon today! Though i went the nice way to Derby!

How about The Railway or The Hanging Gate at Turnditch? They've both got decent sized car parks and do food, or we could go into Wirksworth or Belper for chips instead. We could always have this one back at Starkholmes though.

A consistently reliable pub that, but nothing more than that. It's an Ember Inn, part of a chain. It is nearly always packed.

Belper does have Georges fish & chips, the best ever.

You're right there, Warren, its pretty unpleasant. Infact I'd avoid Uttox fullstop!
