A452 (Collector Road) near Castle Bromwich, Brum
Discussion
On the above road, anyone know whether the two forward facing scameras (Westbound) are:
1) instant speed or average (between the two) speed?
2) active?
I use this road frequently now, and usually just set the cruise control at 50-ish, but quite often see cars tear past much faster than the 50 limit, and always wonder if they know something I don't.
Ta.

Almost all average speed cameras are the SPECS type - a square TV camera with two circular (IR transmitting) ears. These glow a very dim red if they are on. Average cameras are always in pairs of course, and I think work between the 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, 5th and 6th etc and not between then 2nd and 3rd, 4th and 5th...
Also, average cameras do not require lines on the road. Instant speed cameras do (Gatsos have the ruler, Truvelos have two thin lines).
