It's the first round of the Historic Sports Car Club races for 2007 this Sunday at Donington Park. If you went last year you will know that there are some great cars to see on the track or in the pit area. Just to give you an idea what will be racing at this meeting :
Historic Formula Ford & junior
Historic Racing Saloon - Jaguar, Mini, Cortina, Alfa, Anglia etc
Derek Bell Trophy Race - Lola, Surtees, McClaren, March etc
Classic Sports Car - Aston Martin, Shelby Mustang, Jaguar E-Type, Sunbeam Tiger, Tvr, etc
Historic Road Sports - Porsche, Lotus, Triumph, Lancia, Morgan, MG, Austin Healey etc
Classic Formula 3
70's Roadsports.
There are 9 races planned for the day. Practice starts around 9am untill 12.40 then a break for lunch and the first race is due at 1.30 pm with the last one around 5.30pm. Admission is £12 per adult and children aged 15 or under are free. You get to park on the in-field area of the track and you are also allowed to walk around the pit area.
Let's just hope the weather stays fine for the day.
See you there.

Tempted as it's another free day if you're a DPRAC member,
but I'm in Leeds that weekend and not sure what time/state I'll be back 'down south' on the Sunday.

Meant to apply for this and totally forgot! I've got the application form if i was to send it off tomorrow would i still get the free race day on Sunday? Could it be worth e-mailing him about it? I'll be there anyway with the Denby lot but it does seem silly paying for a day which is included in membership!
Thanks and Regards,
Nicola

I can't see them turning the post round that fast unfortunatly.

Worth a try, but it's run by a group of volunteers and sometimes things don't move that quickly but you never know.

Did you keep up with Nicola on the way home?

No lost sight of her before I got out the circuit, didn't fancy my chances of keeping up anyway, I was getting left behind on the way down there.

Yesterday was a great day out. You guys shouldnt have left so early. The Formula Junior race was very exciting. Number 83's engine blew just before the Old Hairpin spraying oil all across the track just at the approach to the apex of the bend. Result was practicaly the whole field spun out with 4 cars ending up in the gravel.
I was planning on calling in at Denby to meet, but ended up going for a ride on my bike. I even went to Donington too, but only to the main carpark and Morgan 3's (near museum), then we went for a blast again. The sounds of the cars going around the track were great, I probably should of gone in and stayed for a while.
