Hey guys,

Could really do with some local knowledge here. My job is moving me to Kiddy, they need me there asap - so i need to find somewhere to live. Not really bothered about living there, but would like to live somewhere a bit outside, i.e. don't mind a 20 min drive in in the morning. Don't want to go any further west or south really.

Any suggestions? Pleeeeeeeeease smile

Hi Anna,

I am just 5 miles away in Bewdley but it can take 20 mins to get into Kiddy from here now! Except during school hols when it only takes 5 mins!

My suggestion is to perhaps look towards Droitwich/Bromsgrove/Redditch which would give you a good chance of about 20 - 30 mins inbound
Or possibly Worcester North again about 30 min run

Really depends on budget to some extent

If I can be of any further help just shout

more info needed really, as there are loads of places! Town/country? as there is both nearby.

I would stay east of the river as crossing at peak times is a pain.

The 449 bridgnorth to kidder road will make you smile every time you drive it.

Can vouch for stourbridge and environs as being ok

Hi Anna wavey

I've just moved to Redditch which would give you about a half hour commute. Droitwich and surrounding area is nice...and close to M5 for getting around smile

We can chew the cud at BTaP if you want?

Some nice roads to warm up the 5 in the morning sounds like a fabulous bonus smile

Not sure I want to be as far south as redditch, but woooo Ron, we can be neighbours!! I was scared I wouldn't know anyone around.

Thanks for the advice guys, it's hard to know what kind of time it takes to get in in the morning just looking at a map.

I'm not bothered about being in a big city anymore, I've done that for 4 years... I'm more bothered about living in a nice area and having somewhere safe to put my car.

In that case i would suggest brignorth, kinver, wolverly caunsall shatterford Alverly etc all about 15 mins to kiddy and nice rural areas with some nice roads.

Also easy to get on the a449 to wolvo and the m5 if your heading north
or to worcester and m5 south

Birmingham city center and airport being about 40 mins

Kinver and Enville are really agreeable (adjacent to the A458 as well! Which is nice! )

stourport or Bewdley ,both offer the option of great roads on your doorstep ie Wyre Forest ,Clee hills ,Ludlow,Craven Arms, Wales or Worcester ,Ledbury Malvern etc and all possible before breakfast.
Bewdley has also got some good pubs and Indians/Chinese

I don't know, you get a low of slow tts on that stretch... I'm usually ripping my hair out by the time I get to Kidderminster

ETA but as for the OP, I would definitely check out the Bridgnorth area, we moved here in August from Hampshire and we absolutely love it

hahahaha that's fabulous! i wanna live there now!!

Ive been looking for a room in a house for the moment - don't want to really commit to anything until I'm sure I wanna stay there, so thought this was a good option.
Saw one in Stourbridge, it was lovely, but I felt it might be a bit too far away from work, and I wasn't in rush hour traffic. Then saw another one in Hagley and I loved the area!!!! but not the house redface(

If anyone hears of anything, pleeease post it up
