How do I start to Modify my Porsche 944 S2 3.0 1990 Model?

I would likt to know how to get started modifying my porsche 944 S2 to gett better performance and handling? Right now she has a few rattles so I have tried to fix the ones that i can find but the ride is very rough any idea how to change that and make it a bitt smother cause its my everyday car.
Also lacks in power and trotel response want to make it quicker?
Also please can you give me some good Links on the net to get cheap but good parts??

Have joined the Porsche Club so will really make the most of my new adventure into The world of Porsche!!

I reckon PH'er Marquis Rex (Rupak) would be some help. He's a Porsche bloke and also an engineer working in Germany for a German car manufacturer.

Porsche forum was suggested 'cos none of the 3 who replied have one, so no point in venturing mods past the obvious 'upgrade suspension, improve engine breathing' type of thing.
