Discussion
Right as some as you may know, I quit my job in August and have been slumming it for a fair few weeks and staying in bed all day. But the time has come for me to get a job. Basically I want at least £22-25k for about 35-45 hours a week max. I dont do anything heavy duty or anything that involves blood or poo. I am not too bright and dont have any skills, so I know that limits my chances a bit, but if anyone can help that would be good.
Oh I also need my own office and parking space. (travel expenses should be on top of wage too).
Oh yeah and ive been doing agency work for the past week, which has involved feeding oap`s, fighting Mental nutcases and picking up litter. I DO NOT WANT TO DO ANY OF THESE AGAIN.

Will, you must have some serious cash, with the cars you and your wife can afford to buy and maintain, so why not take a lower paid job which you can actually enjoy doing, rather than looking for something with lots of criteria, which will make finding one a lot harder?
Just a thought, mate.

To be completely honest, reading through what you want again and what you say you can offer, you have 2 hopes and one starts with 'Bob'.
What about a job in car sales, Will? The Aston Martin (in Derby) place were looking for a salesman recently i believe.

would love to see you turn up to your signing day in the lambo!

(Ive done it in a brand new range rover then the week after I went in the 911)
I went to the dole office in the 360 but i got turned down cos i quit. I was pissed off i had to spend .60p on parking outside for half an hour and i was only in there for 2 mins.

The above is true, however wife is no longer working due to baby and she doesnt plan on working again in the near future, so #i have to be realistic and get a decent job to pay for the cars plus wifes handbags. Just a thought, mate.
And to be honest i o have a few qualifications behind me to do something different but i think i am going to go back to what i know and buy another pub.

Car sales would be ok if I knew anything about cars but I dont.car sales
rent boy

pimp
dealer

Rent boy would be ok if it was for page 3 girls, but cant seem to find that listed anywhere.
Pimp also good idea but already loads in notts so i would have to move.
Dealer also good idea but again too many in /Notts and too many guns around here.
As for temping lol its defo bollox. Turned up in a Fezza for one job and I had to litter pick, it was a f ing joke. And all i got was £6 an hour, I was well pissed off
I don't get it. How can you survive on 25k with those cars? After tax I'm sure I spend nearly that on petrol - then there are the wife's handbags, shoes, curtains, ...
Greta web site by the way. If you did it, I'm sure I could find you a job for that!
EDIT: Unless that's 25k per week? In which case, sorry. I'm with you.

Its not a prerequisite to know anything about cars to get a job in car sales. Good communication skills and sales technique is helpful but that can also be taught. Natural ability is even better.I actually think that people paying a lot of money for cars, do value a salesman knowing about them (and loving them himself!)
If i went to buy a DB9, say and the guy knew nothing at all about them, instead was just a very polite recent transferee from The Tie Rack, it would put me off.
I used to be a motorcycle salesman and knowing your stuff really helps in the 2-wheel world.
Because 9 times out of 10, the bike-buyer is very up to speed on the products he is interested in.

If you've got enough money to buy a pub, (i still want to know JUST how big that lottery win was, Will!) why not forget buying a boozer, what with the uncertain property prices in the next few years being roundly mooted, what with the staffing, paperwork and other expenses that go with it, (more pubs are closing down than ever before, it is a dying trade), instead invest what you have somewhere safe and either retire, as i have done, or do 10 hours per week in a job you enjoy to keep the tax man happy and you amused 2 (short) days a week?
Going to work and back in your car is going to cost you circa £6000 a year in running costs alone.
