A nice indian in what used to be the pub in Arnesby.

Hallaton has the 'Bewicke Arms' which can be quite nice.

Uppingham has the 'Lake Isle' which is a very nice restaurant according to my mum.

Pub in Medbourne was taken over by an Italian chap last year, now do some really nice grub, great Paella and a nice italian beer, Birra Poretti I think.

Sutton bassett has a small country pub my dad swears by, great ale and food apparently, but i've never been.

i'm sorry i can't remember more names, i never really pay that much attention.

Oh, and the pub in Glooston does some very nice, very fancy food. They also have Peroni on draft, I think it's an Australian bloke running it, very friendly.

Hambleton Hall is very nice too, in a different league to the others i've mentioned and the prices reflect it too. Hambleton village had a lovely pub/restaurant which used to do some lovely fish dishes when I was there last.

Oadby has some nice restaurants. I can recommend Leeja Palace for Indian and Yum Sing for Chinese. Swatlands has a good reputation too, although i've never been personally. Unfortunately all the pub food in Oadby and Wigston that I can think of is alright, but a little naff if you know what I mean, nothing special. Kibworth has an Italian restaurant and a Pizzeria both run by the same people, I haven't been to either but freinds and family have told me they're both nice places, nice food.

Its probably worth venturing out if you want an English restaurant, the villages towards Market Harborough have some lovely pubs.

As mentioned, Bewicke Arms, Hallaton is nice. The Old Barn at Glooston is supposed to be good too.
Pubs in the Langtons are good too, mostly. wink

Don't the Yews do food?
There is a pub as you enter Oadby on the right, newish housing estate with modern pub, Grange Farm.

How about the Black Horse at Houghton on the Hill. my home when I was a kid!
I know its east Leicester but they used to do english food!
New landlord now but should still be good posh pub grub.
