Im near Shrops... and certainly aint any meets in my county, so if there was one in Shrops I might well tag along.

There's a thread here about some meets held at the Last Inn at Newport; i've not been to any though!

Would certainly be interested in getting something regular organised once the better weather is upon us (long way off though...lol).

The combination of the drive home from the office this week (daily drudgery with numpty drivers), and the fact that a new Alfa 147 Q2 Sport arrives on Monday has got me thinking about a Shropshire Hoon.

Starting at The Last Inn, a drive on some of Shropshire's quieter roads that are free of scameras and (hopefully) slow numpty drivers.

I'm still thinking about it, but initial thoughts are:

Newport to Crudgington
Crudgington to Shrewsbury Bypass via Roden
Off the bypass on to the "old" A5
Right at the Mytton & Mermaid towards Ironbridge
Stop off for eats at The Meadow
And.........

I'm still thinking about the last stretch.

Any thoughts? Comments? Route alterations?

I usually go to the Last Inn meets - small but a good group. The Last Inn suits some us Staffordshire dwellers wink

A hoon from there once the weather has picked up a bit would be good - should have my 270bhp/370Nm upgrade done by the end of January!

Definately up for a decent drive (weather permitting- salt on road = no for me im afraid!). Nice to see you've included both the high ercal and wroxeter B roads; two of the best around! From Ironbridge we could head to brosely and drive the road to Much Wenlock , than take the A458 to cressage and then drive the other way along the wroxeter road to the old A5?

If not, I have an absolute EPIC shropshire route which drives most of the best roads in the county. But, its probably not the best winter route im afraid as it passes through a few more 'agricultural' areas.

yes

I like the cut of your jib on that one. That little stretch from Cressage to the crossroads heading towards Eaton Constantine is a gem.

From there, how about hanging a right at the old A5 junction, then left after the antiques shop eventually passing the sugar beet factory???

Scott (scottieb) & I are from Bridgnorth/Alveley originally but have moved away for a few years. We're up probably twice a month from March-October & are always up for a blast early morning round those Shropshire/Welsh roads.

Hannah.

My thoughts exactly.......

Maybe we should chat about this next Monday at the meet?

The Alfa was delivered yesterday, and I know it needs a good hoon driving

There was talk about a 'drive out' at the Staffs/Shrops meet Monday just gone. The general consensus was that it would be ideal in early March when the salts off the road and the weather is better. I think we are all counting down the days!

There were some routes sugested - maybe worth a new topic to see what people think about routes, starting location etc...

I am up for it (the drive that is)
