Actually, go for £20K and get a nice Evo 9 340. I can see you in one of those, terrorising half of the Midlands!

Thanks! Could be something worth considering and should be good performance!!! A good price too. Ian, I need to buy a cheaper car weeping £5K max.

Insurance could be an issue ... off to find out! Though when have I ever let that bother me?

rofldriving vrooooooooooom!

At the moment I'm actually looking for a classic, read road legal fun!! Not a licence loser ... but ... I can make exceptions! I normally do.

I'll be the one in the fully restored MG B (current thoughts!) going sideways round the A38 roundabout having mega fun and still being legal .... I didn't realised it did that, Officer!!

Bear in mind the upkeep, Nicola if you go for a classic!
They can eat you out of house and home on maintenance.
My mate's Triumph Stag almost skint him!

yes Agreed though I'll save £180 per year in tax and £2300 in insurance! So that gives me a £2500 for maintenance to start with.

I have run (far too many) old cars as daily drivers and must admit I love the luxury of having a modern(ish) car and the time to "fettle" in my own time rather than having to bodge a repair to get me to work the next day.

also a garage is great, having previously worked in the street!! (inc swapping a beetle clutch in the road with busses and cars whizzing passed my feet !! )

Classics are great, or many are, but are often needful of weekly work.

very nice .... is it a car you would want to drive everyday? limited security, ageing electrics, woeful heating?

Certainly looks tasty.

You would have to adopt a more "sympathetic" driving style !!!

Time for Head not Heart I'm afraid ....

Its a nice looking MGB, though suspiciously cheap?
Have you driven one?
I was looking to buy a Classic last year, but after driving a few MGB`s, TR`s etc I sadly realised the performance is poor (easily beaten by a hot hatch) they dont stop, and dont go round corners great. They rot and tend to be a bit unreliable, i would go for this...but then its what i did and i am biased!!!
