No Straight Six 4.2 The V12 can be a financial nightmare and dosent really imporve performance that much.

You and Warren are going to have to start the PH Spiv Group.

Trilbys are mandatory ....

Kier is about as un-spivlike as you could get. However, I have an old photo of me with slicked back hair and a Mickey Pearce moustache, and I do look very much like a spiv biggrin

Love the car though, very George Cole.

Where my Jag was given new discs/pads, mot, service and ecu update yesterday, they had a Daimler Double Six 2-door Coupe.
Restored at huge cost.

Not Elite & Performance Jags by any chance? If so how was the service? I was thinking of getting them to give the Daimler a look over and the XKR needs a couple of small jobs doing.

Mate of mine has a V12 XJS... uses a Jag Specialist in Nottingham - David Marks.

He's very happy with the quality of service, and the standards of works.

Prices are hardly backstreet, but competitive for a decent indy.

I bought a late series 2, 4.2L in the early eighties with 47,000 on the clock for £1700. I had to change the head gasket 2 months after I got it. But we kept it for years, it was a lovely car.

Hmmm a bit mixed really. Its rustier than the pics indicate which means I am going to be busy with the sand paper and paint come spring. Still I did 200 mlies in it yesterady with no major faults found.

Very nice ... but I have to beg to differ ... having had a Double-Six, an XJ12 and three 6s, the Jag V12 is a superb engine with turbine-like power delivery yes

The 6s are still lovely too though ... and I love the little light above the pen tray and always kept it on when driving at night smile

I love the courtesy lights in the back of the headrests of the XJ40. Nice touch.
