Just thought I would do my bit and promote this charity drive that will be raising money for some worthwhile causes. I'll be taking part myself and it'd be good to see as many of you there as possible to support this event.

The organisers are appealing in particular for high performance and heritage vehicles, the day will be made up of a display of the cars taking part, and then 2 cavalcades up and down the road. Attendees won't have to pay toll charges, and all toll charges for the day will be donated to the chosen charities.

General Info about the event:

I hope this is the correct place to post this, if there is a more suitable area that may attract more attention then please let me know

Absolutely. I work for one of the charities supported, so I'll be doing it myself anyway. I can let you know as and when extra info is released.

They plan to have around 120 cars there (the limitation being the services where the cars will meet) and I hope that PH can put a decent amount of quality cars toward that. There will probably also be some kind of press coverage on the day so there is potential to get your car featured in local and national media.

Sounds good; wasn't aware of this and i've previously done work for MEL! Maybe a little more promo would be good on their part...

If my car is back up and running, could be interested in taking part smile

Tempting - always good to get the old girl out. Depends if I can get the even older girl indoors to let me out for another weekend day.

Could well be up for this and may be able to drag a few more TIVs along too - how do we apply? Or is it just a case of turning up at a designated Services?

Hi Guys,
Yes I am with Gandalf on this and will happily bring my Tvr for an outing to support the charities..
I guess there will be a good level of interest from the local TVR fraternity, so make some room!!!!
Cheers Roy

Hi guys

An updated press release is coming out later today regarding this event. Due to the high level of interest and this being the first year, the cavalcade will no longer be taking place (for logistical reasons). However there will still be the car display plus other attractions going on through out the day.

Amongst others, Porsche and Subaru clubs should be supplying cars and hopefully we can get a nice PH turn out too. If some of you can have a word with the TVR boys that would be great!

I'll put some further info up later

Hi, the top part of the Toll (and services) fall within my Staffs & Shrops region, so I'd be happy to help out (I'll attend certainly) and get as many of the regional guys to attend too. I'll keep an eye on the thread and the press releases and keep in touch smile

That would be great. Are there other threads that this charity event can be posted in? Haven't been able to find a general 'meets' thread
