peaks hoon - sunday 11th may
Discussion
well i picked my new car up today and need to take her for good run. we will be meeting at the olde house in chesterfield at 10 with a 10:30 depart. postcode is S40 4RN.
going on a set route but wont have chance to do directions etc.
couple of rules i want to put in place.
1. no stupid overtaking moves. if you think you holding someone up signal to let them pass at a convient place.
2. to save people getting lost if you are about to turn off somewhere make sure there is someone in the convoy behind you (unless you are at the back) this way no one should miss there turn off and it takes the pressure off people not knowing where they are going.
if the weather is really rubbish then i will cancel.
Peaks Hoon.

I will bring the 'Super-Westy' on the next hoon.
I am currently down in mid-Wales, with 3 Caterhams and 2 Lancer Evolutions.
We are staying in Tregaron, a gorgeous town.
380 bhp / 612 kgs.
This thing's as uncomfortable/noisy/blustery as cars get, but by-kryste does it move. It did an 11.71 at Santa Pod last month.
Pretty damn good, for 1998cc methinks!

The 'barn door' aerodynamics hurt the times recorded, after about three-quarter distance, hence the low-ish terminal speed, which was a best of 118 mph.
A set of smaller wheels, (diameter, down to 13"), but wider, up from 185 to 225 rear tyres and a new clutch should see the car doing high tens. Terminal speed might climb a little, to around 125-127 mph.

just wants to say abig thanks to andy and hope you got home ok. had a great day, on some great roads with great company.
managed to really test the car out and found the brakes need attention but other than that the car was faultless and really getting the hang of it.
a few pics from the winking man pub.

was quite funny actually. there were loads of police there doing some kind of road safety thing for bikers.
anyway andys front plate had 'fallen' off the front of his westy. went in for a drink came out to find 2 police gentlemen looking round his car expecting it to be about the plate.
turns out they just wanted to know about the car. decent guys to be fair.

Aye, it's nice, we go to Wales and also the Scottish Highlands a lot, partly for the quiet roads.wales is a lovely place for a drive went down there last month for a few days and found the most amasing road that went over some mountains. deff going down there again one day.
I'm presently posting from a place called Serres, where Provence meets The Alps.
Gorgeous here.

sail on tues 24th june and back tues 1st july.
you need to get yourself on this run so you can give me those tips you promised.
also just to note that someones pointed out that theres the chatsworth rally show on the same day and the route was going to go through there so i wide birth will be needed to avoid traffic. im going todo a mini hoon on sunday to figure out a decent reroute if anyone fancys that aswell.
