Righto - spent 12 hours out doing car stuff today yikes

First up was the RREC Meet - more to come later when I upload photos, a great day biggrin

Second up the crap car run, were I realise the cars weren't the only thing that was crap .....

I have a confession to make, I can drive pretty quick round the roads I know well, I can always as least keep up - when I'm in a car that is faster than yours but in like for like cars, performance wise - (don't forget mines 18 so has lost a few bhp as well as other things) - I am not as good!

Yep, probably the only time you'll hear it from me, never thought I was a bad driver until now!

In the end there was -

Me in the MX5
Warren in Luigi
Mike in the Fabia
Matt and Paul (think that is your name sorry if I have it wrong paperbag) in a random Yaris
Martin in a 206

Good run out, lovely pub too biggrin

Edited for bad grammar and "speeling"!

You're not a bad driver - you were just slower today than we expected! smile

I know good, fast drivers and bad, fast drivers, but also conversely, good, slow drivers and bad, slow drivers.

LOL! Thanks but improvement is most certainly needed, think the overheating problem has cured itself though which is great, could have been the thermostat going? Because since I've changed it, hasn't done it and today is the first time the car has been used properly biggrin Bang on half way all the time with is great, doesn't have problem oil pressure either which I'm well pleased with, think it may have needed running in which it has now bought the car after it being stood for ages and ages and man who owned it previously never took it above 3000rpm yikes

Actually considering keeping the MX and maybe improving the brakes, tyres and suspension instead of just buying a faster car, after all there is talent in driving a slow car fast and not a lot in driving a fast car erm fast hehe!

O/T These RREC photos are taking FOREVER to load onto my photobucket frown

Glad you all had a good day. I failed turn up to anything today as the hood on the Scimitar detached itself from the frame just after 7am on the outside lane of the M1 going down to the VW meet. Thank god I carry gaffer tape in the car. All sorted now thanks to a mate and his dad. On the plus side I got to have short drive and be a passanger in a Facel Vega HK500 which was following an Alvis TD21 DHC which was following an AC 427 Cobra cool

Don't be so harsh on yourself, that drive back was better than the actual run, I really enjoyed it.

Rolls Royce Enthusiasts Club Meet - Annual Concours and Rally.

Went up town at 9.30 today to find a nice Bentley Turbo R awaiting my arrival, after nipping down the A38 to pick John up then down the motorway a couple of miles we were at Kelmarsh, for a most extrodinary meet, as soon as we got there it was £40 to park our car up, as you can guess there were no chavs at this car show!

Range of Cars

Never have I seen so many interesting cars all turn up from the newest Phantoms and Continentals to a 1901 car!

The Concours cars were unbelieveable the condition they were in biggrin some probably better than new, also there were some less than concours but all the more interesting motors.

- Warrens new car, wayhey!

- Wood?!

- Kelmarsh

- Wayhey, new MX5 colour scheme?!

- Peking to Paris!

Trade Stands

The trade stands brimmed with usual second hand goods, toy cars, Pistons on plaques, £395,000 ex royal cars, old engines, old lights, half cut apart cars amongst other things!

- £440!

- All the way from Derby smile

Huntin' Shootin' and Fishin'

The most unbelieveable vintage and classic cars where there, some showing their original purposes, the owners had nice dogs, the cars had accessories ranging from the tame (hats and teddys and badges) to the outragous (guns, decanters and glasses in the back and even a leopard draped over the seats:confused0068smile

- I carry my boot!

- Just going off to shoot some Tigers, darling!

- Yep it's real!!

MEN! rolleyes

- Lost in Africa 3 Hubcaps!

-Ahhhhh

- Oo-er

More to add just a taster of the day!!

Not too bad. Its bodged back together at the moment. Luckily the hood didnt rip as it came off. Going lots of leptons in 50mph gusts of wind is not a good idea apparently.

The run was fine Matt, it was just that on the way back, there were loads of numpty obstacles to overcome, cruising in L2 when L1 was empty, just the usual multitudes in the wrong lane, with no idea or consideration of what was around them, never looking in the mirror, just getting from A to B in their white goods. Getting around them proved no problem, it was all very smooth and fluid, like a game of draughts when you clear all the opponents pieces in one swoop, and a lot of fun with just 54bhp.
