because it appears to be a tradition that the one who starts the thread either doesn't go at all, or leaves after 1/2 hour hehe ..........

Starting this thread early as some of the East & Northern Midlanders might be tempted to drive a little further to come to this one biggrin

It was suggested last night that this should be moved to the Wednesday for one night only wink

This is 'cause the Red Lion are having a 1st Birthday celebration in the form of a Bonfire Night - V for Vendetta themed it appears - and also because Sam (the Landlord) says that he likes burning things biggrin

It appears that Paula does too hehe

Tis also CoolCatMaz's pre-B'day drinks biggrin

I'd better bring some cash this time!

Matt and Hannah actually came back to the Red Lion later...

right, nice and far in advance this time.. and with a good cause too, count me (+1) in for this!!

sounds great (assuming they'll be putting on some decent food too...), do we need tickets or anything? or is it first come first served?

I didn't see anything that tickets were needed. I'm pretty sure it's an open event to anyone who wants to come along and celebrate, set stuff on fire and watch the fireworks.

Oh, and yes food is being put on........bangers, burgers etc.

And, in true thread starter tradition.......

I 'may' not make this frown

All depends how the cats react to fireworks, I 'should' know by then as I'm sure they will be going off all week, but....... There is no way I can leave them if they are terrified frown

ETA - 12,500 posts woohoo

Yes, more or less. I live in Dickens Heath. Route takes me on the A34 Stratford Road, M42, M40 and A46 outside Leamington and the last leg of the drive is in the countryside. All wtihin 45 mins (I like to drive steadily just to enjoy my car)
