For those that missed it, my gorgeous MX5 Classic was written off by the Insurers last week, following her being taken in to my local garage for the meter fuse to be replaced and them blowing the ECU, which is a cost of £2.5k to replace........ (other methods of fixing her were attempted by Mazda & Insurance, but it appears only a 2nd hand ECU, keys, key barrels and imboiliser from a MK1 Classic will work).
After
2 intense days of car hunting
10 car viewings
2 worthy of a test drive
I've bought the last one I saw.....

Needs some TLC on the alloys, but other than that is in fairly good nick, am going to ask the Insurance if I can buy my 'old' alloys & wheels back
Wish me luck!!!

How does it compare to the Mk. 1?Wish my new addition was as fun

Totally different animals, so far, bit like brother & sister. Will be able to tell you more once it I've collected it and it is in my grubby paws

Bad news on the old one Ali, but at least you've got yourself another one. I take it there's no haggling over the write-off value, given you only bought it a few weeks ago?!?
Also, any chance of you claiming back stuff like your excess off the muppets at the garage?!?

I was offered a more than fair amount and took it, no haggling required

As for the Garage, the fair amount covered my excess, and the Insurance paid for the Mazda dealership investigations
I have no legal comeback on them as it 'cannot be proved even though it is perfectly obvious who was at fault'. But hey, Kenilworth is basically 2 villages - old & new bits - having lived there most of his life, Topboy knows most of both
And you know how quickly a cold can spread - sneeze at one end and the other end has flu

Can't wait, keep us posted
Something like that and a bargain I couldn't refuse, could sell car all day long at nearly £1000 more than I paid for it... which I'm happy with as not sure it will stay as Daily Driver come Spring...you know me!
Looking forward to driving a big German cruiser for the winter though.

When do you pick yours up? I get mine tomorrow evening!
