Once a year we have the Yorkshire barn weekend, this year it is up in Northumberland.

The usual format is meet up en route and arrive sometime on the Friday afternoon or early evening. Eat, drink, be merry and talk rubbish up until the small hours. Saturday is a full English followed by a trip out to somewhere touristy, lunch, another trip out to somewhere touristy, then more eating, drinking and being merry for the Saturday night. Sunday is another full English, clean up, maybe another run out or depart for home.

Dates: Friday 6th, Saturday 7th and Sunday 8th February.

Location: http://www.bunkhousenorthumberland.co.uk

Cost: Variable £25-£40 per person.

You will need: A sleeping bag, some alcohol.

Food is usually a trip to the supermarket, shared costs, shared cooking.

Thread in the NE forum here: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&a...

This year the bunkhouse is to a very good standard with a proper pub ten minutes walk away. The runs out in Northumberland should be good. Crab at Craster, Holy Island, Bamburgh Castle etc. It can be very much a lads weekend, but there are lady's and oldies like me too. Previous years have always been a great laugh and hilariously funny, despite the odd dubious moment yikeshehe

As bumps go, that was pretty good, it's your event you pillock!

Midlands contingent so far:

Balmoral Green.
Minimax + Helga.
Polarbert.
The Tea Boy.
Hot Stu.
Coolcatmaz.
Littlemidgetgem (rumoured, but doubtful).

A hell of a lot of the NE/Yorkshire mob are joining us for the border Hoon and Saturday night fun, although not necessarily staying over at the barn.

TomTVR and I were thinking more of a rendezvous at York mid-morning, to meet up with a few of t'others, and get up North around lunchtime so we can have a mooch about in the afternoon and go to seaside (The Ship Inn at Low Newton). If we are all off work on the Friday, why waste the day?

Will see what Hot Stu is planning at Tuesdays meet.
