Folks - a post by Warren on the Staffs and Shrops thread has inspired me to suggest:

Why don't we try and get the "Midlands" bi-weekly Tuesday meets back on track by picking a venue and sticking to it? The weather will start to pick up (I hope) soon and the nights are getting lighter.

When we were meeting regular at the same venue, the turnouts were much better.

What do you all think?

The White Hart Classic car meets on the 1st Tuesday are well attended, so how about alternating that with another more permanent venue?

The White Lion at Starkholmes has probably been the most popular venue going a long way back, it's just the car park is too small in the busier summer months, and that gravels not too nice either.

I can't say I have ever really liked any of the others we have tried over the last couple of years though.

Really missed the white hart.

Can`t wait for the light nights to come,i really think this year it`s going to be MASSIVE!

I can see them swapping car parks, much bigger on the grass car park.

I move house tomorrow,so wont have internet access for a couple of weeks.

So see you all next tuesday smile

Do we have to factor Nicola's history of erratic "death or glory" parking into the choice of venue/car park?

The Peacock is fine but it has speed bumps, anyone low slung may have problems getting in.

I could walk to that, which is kind of defeating the purpose, but still...

Bumps at the peacock are not that bad, but it's not the nicest pub.

A few of us diehards were having a an alternate to the white hart tryout, but hardly anyone came to any of them. Doesn't help only really being a monthly meet.

The Greyhound was busy with people eating and crap atmosphere. The Horse and Jockey at Wessington was ok. Good car park, but not brilliant pub and they stop food at 7:30. (Although they did fit us all in.) Could struggle to find a seating area together if it is busy - but in the summer that's not such a problem.

The Plough also in Wessington looks good too. VanessaB has been to check it out.

This meet is a general classic car one and runs on the first Wednesday of the month during the summer months. The organiser also tried it on the third Wednesday too last year. It's at the Griffins Head pub. It will probably start in May, i will try to find out exactly when.

I go to the Peacock occasionally, the views nice wink but Starkholmes is one of my favourites. I'm usually training on tuesday evenings so can't make it. That said, after april 5th I'll be free on some tuesdays so can get across and catch up.

?? Whats that all about? You've got to put the car somwhere and if your "blocking" someone you know they are going, hence you get a proper space winkbiggrin

Where are we on Tues. is it White Hart or somewhere else?

The Plough had an excellent car park too, but if we are settled on Starkholmes then i am happy with that. Fish and chips at the bottom of the hill are nice too!

I presume that this is for a meet on Tuesday 31st March and it will be business as usual at the White Hart on Tuesday 7th April. If so, i should be at both.

Sounds like a plan, but please don't bring anything in a jar will you?

What did you do with it anyway?
