We meet at the fire station just off the express way around 8 am followed by a blast through the tunnels. After the run we have breakfast in solihull then for a run to wherever.
Forgive me if I'm wrong and I'm not having a dig etc but isn't this advertising speeding in Brum and therefore the fuzz are likely to see this?R2D2 said:

Good point and I'm probably going to contradict myself and draw attention to speeding but surely going through a tunnel you will boot it cos it sounds good? Seriously I'm not having a moan or dig, I'm all for it! Just curious I guess
You can do that without speeding. IIRC the speed limit in most of the tunnels in Birmingham city centre is 40mph. You could have a good chunk of acceleration without breaking that limit.

Sounds interesting, I get out to the Brum tunnels on the odd Fri / Sat evening when the weather's good
It's meant to dry up from tomorrow, so could well be up for this. Can you be more specific on the meeting point tho' pls? A post code or a road name would be good, as my knowledge of the area is a bit rope outside for Broad St / Bristol Rd!!

I got bored a couple of weekends ago so took the Marcos into Brum to try the tunnels. Top down, 2nd/3rd gear V8 on song.
You don't need to speed (over 40mph)to get the desired Audio effect (Less speed = longer time in the tunnels) but the tunnels are narrowish and twisty and I did get some anguished looks from Mr and Mrs Sunday driver in their Mundaneos as I cruised passed (the reaction of the kids in the back was another matter). If you plan the route correctly you can do a couple of return runs very easily (Dartmouth Circus roundabout - Queensway Tunnels - Holloway Circus roundabout and back) but a massed run is likely to attract more attention from
than one car.
(I am not sure how the fire brigade would feel about a massed gathering on their forecourt - especially if they need to get out - but if you met in Holloway Head (just off Holloway Circus) you could do one run up the tunnels, one run back down and be heading in the right direction for Solihull).
Have fun

Ahh, that'll be me and my ignorance thinking thats what happens. I've clearly never been on a tunnel run. Sounds good though, I'm hoping to get a Audi S4 so I'll be able to give my V8 bliss.
