South Midlands (REDDITCH/WYTHALL) Classic car meet
Discussion
This meeting has been moved now to the Red lion pub on the A435 nr junction 3 of the M42 and has shifted to the second Tuesday in the month during evenings. It is not now officially run by the previous organiser but is now somewhat unofficial due to the PC brigade wanting a team of marshals.
However despite that, the first meeting of the Summer timetable went well, with the pub opening up the mowed field to the side of the car park and there was a great turn out of machinery ranging from customs to Shelby mustangs to E-types as well as a great turnout of classic bikes. With the pub being there and the much closer proximity of the cars than the Brittanic assurance venue there is a great feel to the place, so just wanted to put the word out that the meeting is alive and well with the following dates: Cars are there from 6.30 pm onward
9th June
14th July
11 August
8th September
hope to see you there!

It is only accessible on the northbound side of the A435 from the Redditch direction. If coming from J3 M42 head south towards Redditch and take the first slip signed Portway. Right at the top of the road and right again passing the big car sales place. Pub is on the left before you get to the M42.

is it the same pub with the wacky warehouse on it.the one thats in the dip?
No thats the Horse and Jockey or just the Jockey I think. The Crown is on the other side of the Motorway and on the opposite side of the road. You approach it up the A435 heading away from Redditch just before the M42 junction.sone said:

I thought this was the Rose and Crown not the Red Lion. Got a post code for the Red Lion? I am about 500 yds from a Red Lion which is near junc 3 m42, but its not on the A435!

Could be wrong tho!.

It is literally a few hundred metres before J3 of the M42 on the left.

OK, lets make this easier.. here's a link to the ROSE & CROWN on Google maps. It's VERY easy to find, being just off J3 of the M42. If you can't find it now, there really is no hope

That could be confusing - you've changed M42 to M43. It is the M42.

Lots of confusion over this, especially with the last minute venue change. On my way home last night I didn't see anyone at the Rose & Crown (6:30pm), then when I got home found it had moved home!
Out of interest, how many people spotted the change and turned up at Becketts last night? I do hope it was well attended and the confusions don't put people off in the future, I wouldn't want to see this meeting die out.

now lets see if it can rival the size of the Leicestershire meets!
