Are there 4WD rollers there? Is it just turn up on the day or are you taking numbers on here?

yes its a full 4wd rolling road, think it can handle upto about 600bhp

its been orginsed through our car club site (www.charnwoodcarclub.co.uk)

but i thought i advertise on here to see if anyone was interested, but yeh it is just turn up on the day, we needed a minimum of 15 cars to secure the day but the more cars the better!

Damn, I wish I knew about this earlier. I've been trying to organise an event on our owners forum (mx6.com) and ended up booking at Northampton Motorsport for £35 a run. I've got about 8-10 lads lines up for August 1st but if I could get in at Quorn it would be worth changing, especially as I only live in Melton.

I'll have to look into this, can you give me some info please, how often do you get together up there?

Jay, thanks for the invite, I really enjoyed it.

I was disappointed with the figures for my car, but I guess it's down to the heat, what with it being a turbo and intercooled.

Last time I ran it on a rolling road it was a cold January in 2007, it made 335bhp/425lbft. Today it made 275bhp/383lbft.

I guess temperature, different rolling road, different operator, but mainly the heat accounted for the difference.

Good to meet you all at Charnwood Car Club.

Cheers,

Warren.

Thanks for the invite Jay- it was good to have the GT-Four on the rollers. Mine made 197.4bhp, so well down on the 239bhp it would have as standard. However, the gauge isn't reaching full boost (it wasn't on the journey home either) so it appears not all is well. The rolling road guy reckoned it could be the turbo actuator, and should make the quoted power once fixed so I shall investigate.

Some of the other lads in the blue Corsa flashed their lights to me when I was driving along later and I failed to reciprocate so you'll have to pass on my apologies. I was concentrating on finding a petrol station at the time- two of them that the TomTom came up with didn't even exist, so I eventually resorted to asking for directions!

Thanks again.

That's about an 18% reduction, the same as mine. I reckon it's down to the heat with a forced induction car and an intercooler not getting any air.

Well what a fantastic day biggrin

Excellent range of cars and a really enjoyable day out.

Thought i'd register and post up to say a big thankyou to Warren (BG) for taking the time to come down and see us, really good to meet you and you're certainly more than welcome to come down to the weekly Charnwood Car Club meet held at Six Hills Hotel (off the A46) every Thursday.

Really enjoyed having a poke around your car, it's immaculate and quite a beast!

Of course you're more than welcome to invite any other people you may know who share the same common interest in all things automotive.

Hope to see you down next week.

Thanks to all the other noobs that took the time to visit also, didn't get to meet all of you as i was recovering from the previous evening...

That's all for now!

Cheers,

Kieran

thats alright!! its just nice to meet new people with the same interests, we ending up running 28 cars in the end, we had a couple of old mini's turn up towards the end.

Warren, your car is brilliant, i just love the size of the thing its how a british car should be!

shame that the figures were abit low but like you say i think it was down to heat as all the turbo cars were struggling with the temps. the n/a cars ran really well.

i will post pics up in abit, theres about 200 to sort through
