Does anyone here live within sensible walking distance of the Tudor Grange Leisure Centre?

I've just started a job where I'm now on a waiting list for a parking space - and that list is currently running at 2 years!

So I had an idea;

If someone around where I work has a drive sitting empty and would like the security of having my car on their drive so it looks like someone is home, from between 8-9am and 5-6pm without it being an inconvenience (ie. a big drive or a space where I park out of your way) we could both benefit.

I have a 2006 Jaguar X-Type so it won't look out of place and its not going to drop oil on the drive.
I am a senior manager with a blue chip high street company and am happy to meet to discuss the idea and so you know who you are dealing with. Please drop me a line.

Thanks
Ian

Didn't know you'd sold the BM.
Obviously I'm not within walking distance.

Glad to get rid of the damned BMW to be honest FFG. I miss all the little gadgets which gave me something to play with on the long motorway journeys - I'll have to find something else now eh wink - but that's all, it had too many 'quirks' for my liking.

It'd be a hell of a long walk in from your place hehe

edit: you commuting from Nottingham?!! I used to work in Ruddington and that was 1hr+ going opposite way to the traffic....

£15/week at Monkspath and visited/playground for people of potentially dubious character once it gets past 5:30pm but thanks for the suggestion Cheeky Chops.

I'd also like to bring the TVR Griffith to work occasionally if the sun every comes out again and that would be absolutely out of the question at the minute.

Yes, I do commute, though its from maybe 10 mins west of Ruddington so around an hour or so. Better than the last trip though which was down to Stratford on Avon eek

Hmm, never actually been in the carpark. How far you prepared to walk? I will have a think...

I live in Dickens Heath - it's a bit of a trek on foot though to the leisure centre. Can't help you, sorry!

Perhaps we should swap jobs Ian, although I know diddly squat about IT, thankfully.
I don't really enjoy my commute, so Solihull would be nice and you can drive to Derby/Castle Donington.

you could park at widney manor station and walk, but prob 1.5+ miles. When i used to get the train, they never had parking wardens/tickets like solihull station.

Suzanne Verdi, Midlands Today mentioned a website that gives addresses of people who rent out drives.

I'm pretty sure there is free on street parking within easy walking distance of the leisure centre. Look at some of the side roads just off Blossomfield Road ie near Blossomfield Dental Surgery
