Friends

MiJulies Puma has the engine light showing and had dropped into some sort of limp home mode.

Woudl I need a main Ford Main Dealers diagnostic computer to interogate the system to find out what is wrong or do independents have the right equipment?

Your thoughts?

I think it depends on the garage. My neighbour works for an indie and when my old Fiesta had the engine light on he came round with a box of tricks he plugged in and it diagnosed it. Turned out to be the Lambda sensor on mine.

I imagine they're expensive though so small indie's might not be able to afford it.

For a check engine light, most diagnostics will read it, including the cheapo ebay ones, it's only when it goes into stuff like accessories and body electrics when you'll need either a fully paid up snap on scanner or a ford dealer
