Worcester(shire) PH trip out to Wales
Discussion
Right, there has been a bit of interest in the other Worcestershire thread so I thought I would start up a fresh thread.
After a successful meet a few weeks ago with a lot of interesting cars turning up I was wondering how people felt about a run out to Wales. I suggest that we do it one of the days over the bank holiday weekend (29th - 31st), the day will depend on which suits the most people.
Once we have an idea of numbers and a day we can start planning a rough route but for now just add yourself to the list if interested. The more the merrier, type of car doesn't matter so long as you enjoy driving it!
The List:
King David - MX-5 (Turbo) - Any day is fine

Well count me in - dates permitting. Sounds like a great idea

Yeah it was, I managed a breakaway group and was duly informed by a couple of Exige chaps that I was to get to the front of the pack again after the aborted route through the Elan valley.
I did wonder during that day if Lotus was an acronym for Ladies On Tour Usually Slow
Will be interesting to see how the lardy Aston fairs on such a hoon.

David - I hope you realise there's a lot to live upto in organising a hoon thru' Wales, LOL!! Have you looked at any route planning yet? It might be worth getting a few ideas out to the group.
Also there's a great program called TYRE (Trace Your Route Everywhere), which is fantastic for planning & building routes which translate into TomTom ITN files

Yeah I am beginning to kick myself for not waiting for someone else to suggest this
As a rough starter I would imagine that we could meet nice and early at a West facing location (Bridgenorth maybe or the big garage at Much Wenlock). From there meander west until we are just below Snowdonia. Head up to Betws-y-Coed where we can get a spot of lunch and play around the Llanberis Pass and around the valleys until it is home time, where we head through Llangollen and back to Bridgenorth
That would give us a couple of hundred miles driving and I'm pretty sure would be a full day. However these are just some random musings so please tell me if that is too short/long or if I am missing out any must do roads. Really I only know the area around Snowdon so all suggestions are welcome.
As far as meeting times go, I agree with Steve about the early start and think we should maybe aim for 7:30 at the latest to ensure we get a full day. At the moment I am thinking that Sunday (30th) seems to be the best day for this unless anyone has any objections.
Please let me know what everyone thinks, and put the word out to other drivers
