Anyone know of a good place for corrado servicing here in the midlands? Im thinking of acquiring a 2.0l 16v 1994 model, and am a bit edgy about timing belts. I would most likely get this done very soon after purchase. Im trying to locate somewhere that is both rated by PHers, and is reasonably priced. How much should I expect a timing belt change to cost? Replies gratefully received.

I do all the bits on my GTi myself and get the bits from GSF Derby.

If you don't fancy DIY then I would recommend Stores Road garage in Derby 01332 295413.

Whereabouts are you? There is a thread in here called "self service garage" which is about a place near Chesterfield (JN 29, M1). They hire out 2 post lifts by the hour and offer an "on-site" mechanic to help with stuff you can't get done. In reality, this mechanic is Dean, a chap who is doing jobs for friends/ family/ acquaintances on the other lift. I went up there to do a service on my wife's car, and was so impressed with his knowledge that I ran the skoda up there when it was due a cambelt.

Dean let me watch and used me as a "mobile tool box", which in effect means I was lifting/ shifting/ fetching. This was fine by me and I got the whole job done, which was belt, tensioner and water pump, parts included, for about £350. A very good job and now at least 10k miles ago with no bother.

If you can't find the thread, here is the website link, tel them you heard from Paul from Leicester through here and you'll be well welcomed. smilehttp://www.selfservicecentre.com/
