I'm considering my garage vehicle lifting options because another winter of rolling around on a cold concrete floor is really not something I'm relishing the idea of this year.

I've looked at scissor and 4-post ramps but the other option is a Hamer lift.

I've been to the website, watched the u-tube stuff etc but wouldn't mind talking to someone about their experiences having lived and worked with one.

Has anyone got one they wouldn't mind me coming and having a poke around?
I'm in Kegworth and work in Solihull, so anywhere down the A42/M42 or M1 corridors would be ideal.

That Hamer lift looks pretty good, especially for the price and that it can be dismantled and stored in a not very big area.

I'd love a 2 post lift, but it will neither fit in the garage - well, not with the Landrover in there too - and the concrete floor isn't deep enough.

A 2post lift needs to be bolted into 6inches of concrete. although my floor is reinforced it isn't 6inches deep.

Well I finally got one last weekend.

Although it was advertised as a 'standard' its 2.4m wide and 3.5m long. Its ruddy enormous and sadly won't allow both cars in the garage when its built.

Fortunately I have a mate who is a welder so he's going to make up two new end beams for me. With any luck I'll have a new toy to play with this weekend biggrin

Yes I did buy it used but they are like ruddy hens teeth.

This was only the 3rd I've found for sale in the last 6 months.
I was outbid on fleabay and missed out on one being sold secondhand on the Hamer website which sold within an hour the same day it was put up for sale.

I paid £920 off ebay but then had to go collect it.
Though as I said before, the description was for a standard sized unit which it certainly isn't so its a good job we overkilled the van size!
